I'm visually channeling the Elkhorn Slough aesthetic from Michael Kenna in Tulare in this image and it really reminds me of the work journalists are called to do in their service to the public which often entails thanklessness, low pay, a commitment to shining a light on issues that are pertinent to the public... all of this without the promise of a public pension. The least we can do is pay for the news, good local news, and/or good long form investigative journalism at both the local and national level.
